Big Announcement! – Audiobook Now Available on Audible (and more!)

My book, The God I Won’t Believe In: Facing Nine Common Barriers to Embracing Christianity, is now available in audiobook! (Click here to view it on Audible)

This is something that I and my colleague, Curt Fuller, have been working on for many months, and it just went live today.

Additionally, Curt and I sat down recently to record a short podcast episode to talk about the other projects we have in the works, as well as to describe the process of writing and recording these books.

Curt Fuller is the Technical Director at White Fields Community Church. He was the editor of my first book, and he is the voice which reads the audiobook.

Prior to coming to work at White Fields, Curt was already in the audiobook publishing world and was involved doing voiceovers, so he was the right man for the job!

In addition to this audiobook, we have two other projects in the works: a group study guide for The God I Won’t Believe In, which is designed to be used in small groups, youth groups, or by families or individuals at home, and a new book tentatively titled, So That You May Believe, based on evidences for believing in Jesus found in the Gospel of John.

Stay tuned for those, and go pick up a copy of the audiobook version of The God I Won’t Believe In on Audible!

Theology for the People Podcast – Season 3 Starts Tomorrow

Season 3 of the Theology for the People Podcast begins tomorrow!

This spring I plan to release episodes every week on Thursdays, so make sure to subscribe on your preferred podcast app, or subscribe to email updates to this blog in order to receive updates and get new episodes when they are posted.

The first episode is a discussion about the biblical genre of Lament and its function in the life of believers today.

I also have a big announcement coming about some book publishing projects I’ve been working on.

As we approach the one year mark of war in Ukraine, I have an interview with a missionary who has been on the ground throughout the past year during the war, updating us on how the church has been ministering throughout the crisis, and how to pray for them.

There will also be other episodes on various theological topics.

If you would like to ask a question or suggest a topic for me to cover on the podcast, you can do that here.

Big Announcement: I Wrote a Book! Here’s the Story Behind It and What It’s About

In this week’s episode of the Theology for the People podcast, I sit down with Michael Payne and Curt Fuller to discuss my forthcoming book, The God I Won’t Believe In: Facing Nine Common Barriers to Embracing Christianity. The book is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2022, and will be available for purchase online, as well as in our church’s bookstore. We are currently working on distribution, and getting it into other bookstores and book distributers as well.

In this episode, Michael interviews me and Curt, who edited the book, as we discuss the backstory behind how it came about, as well as the content of the chapters, and who this book is for.

I hope this book will be a great resource to help both those who are wrestling through facing these barriers to embracing Christianity, as well as those who seek to be equipped to help their family and friends move from doubt to belief.

I’d love it if you’d consider buying a copy of the book, and if you’d help spread the word about it online!

Prayer Around the World Extended for Another Week

For the past 3 weeks Calvary Global Network leaders around the world have been leading live prayer on the Calvary Chapel Facebook page.

I have been leading from 1:00-2:00 PM Mountain Time each day, and it has been encouraging to see God use it.

It would be great to have you join me for these times of prayer; it has certainly been good for me to spend an hour in prayer each day for all that’s going on. I’m sure God would use it in your life as well.

We’re Moving!

White Fields Community Church is moving! From our church’s beginning, we have met in the St. Vrain Memorial Building in downtown Longmont. It’s a large building, and has been a great place to start a church, but as we have grown, we have gotten to the point where it has been hindering more than helping us in fulfilling God’s mission for our church. For example, our Middle School class meets in a hallway, since we have maxed out all of the available spaces for NextGen classrooms.

We have pursued several properties over the past few years, and God has been faithful to lead us by shutting doors, which is exactly what we prayed He would do if those were not the right places for us.

Recently we heard that another church in Longmont was considering closing a second campus they had opened 2 years ago. After reaching out, we felt that God’s hand was in this for several reasons. One is that the day we reached out to them is the same day that they had their official vote to close the campus. One of their prayers that day was that God would bring another church to use the space, and they received a call from us on the way home, within an hour! The other reason is because we were able to work out a deal in which we acquire all of their furnishings – something we would have needed to purchase wherever we moved to, and we will be able to take them with us when we move in the future.

We don’t view this as our final destination as a church; we would still like to own our own building rather than lease, but this will be a good place to facilitate ministry for the next several years. The church is a family, and a building is like the family car: it’s a tool that we use for our family, and it helps to have one that is good and reliable, and in which we all fit!

This new space is going to be a big upgrade for our kids and our youth; there’s a large youth area. It is a place that our church will be able to use for ministry throughout the week, including being home to our Bible Learning Center. It will give us the chance to have special services, such as on Good Friday; something our church has never been able to do. We look forward to filling the space with Bible study, discipleship and worship all week long, as well as having a home for our media outreaches. Our offices will move here, as we have also outgrown our rented office space on Nelson Road.

Please be praying for this new season at White Fields!
