Last Thursday I hosted a YouTube LIVE Q&A for the first time, and it went better than I expected!
I answered questions about politics, the Holy Spirit, suicide, and demonic possession – and more people tuned in than I had anticipated!
Here’s the video of that recording if you’d like to watch back. If you turn on the comments, you can see people posting their questions and feedback.
We’re Doing It Again!
Since it went so well, we are going to be doing this more regularly; we’re currently aiming for doing it weekly on Thursdays – so please join us for that, and please help us spread the word about it, so more people can be part of it and ask their questions!

On this particular occasion, I will be going live from the clubhouse of a golf course because I already had a tee time scheduled before we decided to start doing these live Q&A videos! So please join me in praying that the wifi works well at the clubhouse! And if you want to see my golf attire, you’ll have to tune in!
Here’s the link for that scheduled video, and with this you’ll also be able to watch it (or re-watch it) afterwards:
This Weekend: Rhythm at Roosevelt + Live Q&A On Site!
This Saturday (September 21, 2024) is the Rhythm at Roosevelt festival in Longmont, at Roosevelt Park from 2-10 PM.
White Fields Church will have a booth there, so please come by if you attend. We will be handing out popcorn and free swag and hoping to connect with many people in the community.
As part of our time there, we will be doing a Live Q&A, which will be broadcasted on YouTube, and people will have the opportunity to ask questions in person as well.
Here’s the link for that YouTube event, if you can’t come out in person:
Golf Marathon for YoungLife in the St Vrain Valley
On Monday, Sept. 23rd I am participating in a fundraiser to support YoungLife in the St. Vrain Valley. To raise money, I will be playing a marathon of 45 holes of golf in one day!
My wife Rosemary volunteers with YoungLife and both my high schoolers attend their gatherings. YoungLife specializes in building relationships with teenagers, walking with them through the highs and lows of their teen years, and introducing them to Jesus. YoungLife establishes mentoring relationships between Christian adults and teens, many of whom have no connection to church.
If you would like to join in supporting this local ministry with any amount, you can do so by clicking here: St Vrain Valley YoungLife Golf Marathon 2024
You stated outsiders can become part of God’s family (last Sunday’s sermon), here is my question: If I have been sharing the gospel with an obnoxious unbelieving colleague who continues to ridicule the Gospel and those who are believers in this gospel, when is it time to stop sharing about the Lord? This ‘outsider’ seems to only desire to be contentious and boastful. When do, and should I, ignore his questions regarding my faith and my Savior? At times I truly believe I need to give him an answer and other times I understand he is goading me. When and how do I stop “casting my pearls before swine”? How do I walk away? Sometimes I don’t want to walk away. I want him to know Christ as his Savior, but is he really searching? Sometimes he is a d Sometimes he is not. Help.
If he’s asking questions, I would keep answering! I’d personally rather debate a critic than try to kickstart an indifferent person. If you start feeling that the conversations aren’t going anywhere, just say that to him. Tell him directly what you hope he will do and believe.
Regarding Matthew 15:24, I thought Jesus was sent by God only to the Jews. I thought Jesus was sent to preach the Gospel to them, work miracles for them, proving His Messiahship. And when the Jews rejected Him, then the apostles were to be sent to the Gentiles. Jesus Himself was sent only to the Jews, “the lost sheep of Israel” or the “house of Israel”, which is the Jewish nation called Israel. Did I misunderstand the sermon on Sunday to say Jesus came for all peoples?
Ultimately, the answer is yes. But the Jews were the original “elect”.
I’m not diminishing the special role that Israel plays in God’s redemptive plan. The model of “to the Jew first and then to the Gentiles” is seen in both the OT, in Jesus’ ministry, and in the Apostles. Jesus is the Savior of the world; He came to the Jews but not just for the Jews.
We addressed this question in this week’s Sermon Extra video: https://youtu.be/xnb_tOk5dCg?si=fB3y5wibMeSp2VAR
As per the upcoming October 07th Remembrance, ultimately, no one is safe from calamity. The possibility of death can come a thousand ways, but the real calamity is to fail to repent then you perish eternally. Everybody is headed for death. Believe, repent, be saved. Can it be that simple, Pastor Nick? Acknowledge we are sinners, it isn’t just in our conduct it’s in our heart… this deep rebellious attitude toward God. Repentance means we look at ourself, truly look at ourself honsestly, and recognize I’m headed toward judgement. There’s nothing good within me. I really am not a good person. I have no power to rescue myself. No religious ceremony will get me to heaven. We need mercy, grace, forgiveness, and righteousness. Christ paid the price Himself. How can people not see this? Open their eyes, LORD.
